Easter Weekend 2012

We started out our Easter weekend with our 3rd Annual Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. Eggs, booths, games, muffins and prizes.

As you can see Rigdon wasn't that excited about anything. He gets really nervous and clingy when their are lots of people around.

Good job Ms. Millie

Ryker got plenty of eggs too.

The whole family :)

While sitting in the wagon, Rigdon helped himself to a few sweet treats.

Then later that afternoon we went to our Nana and Pa's house for a BBQ and another Easter Egg Hunt.
Rigdon love riding around on his little 4 wheeler.

Ryker found Pa's safety glasses

I was trying to get Rigdon to find eggs but he picked up one or 2 then jumped back on his quad.

Ryker looking everywhere.

and found some in the bushes.

Amelia's basket is getting full and heavy.

Yep, still riding the quad.

Baskets are out, we are ready for the Easter Bunny.

Don't forget to leave him some carrots.

Good Morning, Happy Easter.

This is a "I LOVE legos" face. He wanted that red ninja so bad.

Rigdon loves to play with toy guns so the Easter Bunny left him a bubble gun.

Now time to get our Sunday best on.

I took several pictures but I couldn't get one with all of them looking. Oh well, they are still such cuties.

After church we dyed our Easter eggs.

Easter is such a fun time and yes it is way more that bunnys, candy and eggs. I wanted my kids to really start focusing on the real reason we celebrate Easter. So after searching for an idea I had in my head, I combined a few ideas I saw in blogland and came up with this lesson idea. Shaun has been teaching me how to use photoshop so I was pretty proud of myself for making this. I will be posting each page on my other blog so others can download it and copy it for themselves.

April 1st-April 7th 2012

Conference time!!! Such a wonderful weekend it was. We do our best to have the kids sit and listen (with some activities of course) but I'm going to keep it real!! We don't hear a thing with all 3 of them. Rigdon is all over the place and his favorite thing to do it run to the TV and try to turn it off before someone gets him. Then Ryk and Amelia just bicker all day long and they did the same thing during conference. Thank goodness we recorded them and they are so accessible through LDS.org because their are several I will for sure be listening  to often.

Saturday evening after our dad left to go hear the priesthood session, I took the kids to check out the Gilbert Temple's progress.  I told the kids that they could get married here when they are older and they both said they wanted to get married at the Mesa Temple were Shaun and I were sealed :)

It is coming along very nicely!!!

Here were a few of our conference activities the kids were able
to do. Conference Bingo and a Magnetic game with the prophets and Apostles. I'm going to put the print out on my other blog if you are interested. It was stinkin cute, if I do say so myself!

Bubble time. Nana gave each of the kids bubble sticks and they had fun playing outside with them. It was so funny watching Rigdon try to figure out how to blow bubbles. He never figured it out so he resorted to whacking us with his wand.

Ryker started his 2nd year of T-ball. His team is the Firebirds.

Rigdon and his friend Emerson. They are learning to share.

In my preschool class we planted a seed and it magically grew a carrot in 30 mins ;)

Ryker was Bulldog of the week at his school. Here are a few things he said about him self: Favorite color is green, favorite food is mac and cheese, favorite thing about school is resess. favorite thing to do is pay the Wii and when he grows up he wants to be a Secret Agent.

So We usually go to the Easter Pageant every year with Ryker. This year our friends asked us to join them and we thought Amelia needs to start coming. My kids are early to bed and early to rise type of kids and the Pageant doesn't even start till 8:00pm so that is why we never took Amelia, but the following day was Good Friday, so no school so we went. It almost didn't happen (Satan didn't want us to go) but w got there and enjoyed every minute of it. The kids did great and Ryker is understanding more and more each time we go. :)

March 2012

We started out the month of March with our 2nd Service Project. Same idea as the Christmas service project but I changed the gift bags and gifts to spring things.

We made these cute bunny bags, then I had a few little prizes and activities to be put in each one.

The kids also decorated and wrote on a card for the children at the hospital.

We were able to make almost 100 bunny bags full of treats. Around 50 kids came and we couldn't have done it without the support of all our family and friends!

We are so blessed and this is such a small way to show our love and graditude. Their are many sick kids who have to visit the hospital and we hope to have lifted their spirits and let them know that their are other kids thinking about them.

Oh Rigdon, I had this empty vitamin bottle and I filled it with some star beads I had. He would sit for like 30 mins at a time dumping and filling the bottle back up. Neither of my other 2 would EVER sit this long. But I can't get this kid to sit and read a book with me. Sad hu??

Just a cute pictures before church one day.

SPRING BREAK!!!!!
I love Spring Break!! The weather is great....and no schedule. We spent lots of hours at the park playing with friends.

One of the days we meet up with some friends and made a huge slip n slide from a huge plastic tarp. We soaped it up and they kids went a sliding.

Another day we headed to the Zoo with the Porters. Her are the kids giving us their fierce tiger face.

I let Rigdon out for a bit and he tried climbing the fence to get a better look at the cheetah.

We ended our Spring Break with a fun St. Patricks day park at the park. I asked everyone for $1 per kid (we had 50 kids) and I bought and put together a rainbow fruit baggie and a rainbow sweet treat. Good thing I have an iphone and can listen to all my political talk shows because I was up till almost 2 in the morning putting the baggies together. It was my fault for getting a late start though. But it was worth it because the kids had a great time :)

My little leprechauns

Later that afternoon we went home to work on our Leprechaun trap.

Behind the ribbon rainbow their is a stick holding up the box. We placed our bait, I mean gold under the box and we were all set.

When we woke up the next morning, our trap was down!!!! Ryker is the brave one who is going to lift it up to see what we caught.

I love his face!!!! We didn't catch a leprechaun but he did leave the kids a little treat!

I was able to go on a field trip with Ryker and his class. Here we are on the bus.

The kids got to go to Peter Piper Pizza to see how they made the pizza.

They each got their own personal pizza an drink and several tokens.
These are 2 of Ryker best friends: Rayce, Truman and Ryker
