The Best Valentines Day!!!

This year I had a wonderful Valentines Day and it wasn't even with my husband.  As much as I love him, I'll admit I enjoyed my quick get-a-way.  Shaun was nice enough to let me go with his mom to California Friday and Saturday. We woke up EARLY friday morning and drove off to Cali. Our first stop the Garment District in LA. I love this place, many may find it scary looking but they have all the fabric, ribbon, tulle you could want plus so much more.

This is not a good shot of what it really looks like but this was on top of the roof were we park our car.

This place looks cheesy but it has the best selection of ribbon!!!

We spend a few hours here getting all sorts of fun things. I got a new skirt pattern and fabric that I can't wait to make!!!  Then from the Garment District to the Scrapbook convention in Orange County we went.  If you have ever been to the Phx one it is twice as big so LOTS of fun things. We spend a few hours there then finally we were about to pass out because being the die hards we are we didn't eat anything ALL day. I had a little muffin and we both just ate wintergreen lifesaver the whole drive over. I guess we were to excited to eat in the morning. So we got close to our hotel around 7:00 and decided to eat at our favorite place Red Robin. The boys always tease us for eating here so it was nice to eat with our men complaining =)

For the first time in a year I got a good nights sleep!! No kids to wake me up!!! So that next morning we went to the Orange County Swap Meet which I L-O-V-E and spend hours their "stimulating" the economy as we like to put it =)   When we were all done we loaded up and headed home. But as we were driving for an hour or so we see a sign that says freeways ends in 1/2 mile. We both look at each other like that only can mean one thing, and yup right when we said that we went through a tunnel and their was the glorious ocean!!! We where driving the wrong way =) I was laughing and poor Leann was a little upset with herself for not realizing that but when your driving West all day it was a funny and easy mistake.  I'm mad I didn't take a picture at the swap meet or the beach. We got turned around and headed EAST this time to find ourselves back in Arizona. It was a fun trip and I already can't wait till next year. Shaun took amazing care of the kids (thanks to a little help from Pa and the Porters).

The night before I left I decorated the house with hearts and left some Valentines treats for the fam. These are some pictures Shaun took. (yes Ryker is wearing way to small PJs, he needs some new ones)

This is actually Sunday after church. When I got home Saturday night around 10:30 I came home to flowers, a card, a clean house, he got my car washed and took some stuff to the DI Pod and I didn't even tell him to.   Thank you SOOOOOOO much Leann for the mini-trip.

and it looks like Ryker is flashing some gang signs. Should I be worried?? =)

K, I have a list. I love the dress you made. I wish you would teach me how to do sew cute stuff. How do you find the time?? I am jelous, I have never been to the garment district. I would go crazy buying tons of fabric and then never do anything with it. I have worse teeth than you. I am not bragging, just trying to help you feel better. Also, Glenn Beck is depressing but so right on the money. And I have to stop watching FOX because I am getting so anxious1 I cannot handle what is going on. We are actually canceling our satelite so hopefully I'll be fine in a few days. Is this the longest comment ever???

Lucky girl! How fun that trip must have been! And wow, a good nights sleep sounds just about as good as a trip to CA with no kids;)

I beginning to think that we need to start a joint political blog;)

Oh, and since we cancelled our dish at the end of last year, I've been going through FoxNews withdrawal but Matt has us listening to some guy named Savage and Glenn Beck on AM radio whenever we are in the car. Have you heard of that Savage guy? I think you might appreciate him too;) He can be a little politically incorrect sometimes but seriously, I'm a little over politically correct now!
