So I ALMOST was the first person to die from a Craft over-dose. Holy cow I LOVE visiting Utah were so many people are way to crafty for their own good. I'm getting ahead of myself.
Shaun has some relatives who live in Idaho. They have always been a very close family and ever since Shaun was little they would go on family trips together every year. Well fast forward to 2007 and my mom and sissy in law, Ryker and I flew up to Utah and Rita (mom-in- laws sister) Wendy and Cari (shauns cousin) drove to Salt Lake with their kids and we had a great time. 2008 All the families met up in California and went to Disneyland, Legoland and the beach. So this year we ditched the kids and hubbies and met up in Utah again, this time for a Craft Madness Girls Trip.
Missy, Me and Leann on the plane Thursday evening.
We get to the hotel around 9:30pm or so and Wendy, Cari and Rita were ready with all sorts of funness (made up word)
They opened the door to a whole new area of crafting- bead jewelry!!! Thanks alot!!!!! Look at all the bracelets and watch bands made in one night!!
We finally get ready for bed and settle down to go to sleep at like 1:30 or so knowing we had a full day ahead of us.
Friday: The day I almost died!! We first went to my new favorite place on the planet.... Move over Disneyland THIS place was the happiest place on earth.
The Garden Village. If you have ever been to San Diego's Sea Port Village, this was just like that but all the little shops were for crafters. They had home decor, quilts, fabrics, candy shop, the BEST sandwich shop etc.. I would walk into a store and just about have a heart-attack because I wanted it all. Seriously I was so overwhelmed.
After we finished up with the Gardens Village we headed over to Tia Pan and we were so sad we only could get things that would fit in a suitcase. Next time we are driving up to Utah and bringing a trailer.
For dinner we went to a favorite place Red Robin. I cropped the picture because their are only 2 pregnant women but yet it looked like their were 3, I couldn't suck in my gut after over eating!!
We also went to a store called The Wood Connection, this is were I had my nervous-breakdown. It was just full of unfinished wood projects at a great price. I did buy a huge frame I can paint to put in my living room but of course it didn't fit into our bags so sweet Rita is going to ship it to me! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH RITA!!!!
Saturday we went to get pedicures and boy howdy my hobbit toes sure needed one. They look so purdy now =)
We ate lunch at the Olive Garden then ran over to the Distribution Center and the Mall. The weather was PERFECT the whole time but the minute we got to the outdoors mall it rained cats and dogs for a bit.
Then it was time to say good-bye and get back to the real world. Wendy and Cari PLEASE move down here, we would have more fun than you could dream of!!!! I would move up to Idaho but I couldn't handle the snow. =)
Oh this was one of the funiest trips ever and we, ok I decided we are for sure doing this again next year and I'll start to save my money now. Thank you Leann and Rita for making it possible and such wonderful memories have been made, lets re-cap:
Rita: she finally gave us our christmas gift that she has had for a few years now. she cracks me up. It is the biggest binder of Family Home Evening lessons and activities. My kids will love it!!!
Wendy: she is the BEST driver around =) Thanks for shuttling us around even if we gave you a hard time for your sense of direction.
Cari: she is the driving force, without her organizational skills we would not have accomplished so much in so little time.
I can't wait to find out what you are having!!!
Leann: she did such a good job and not buying anything the first day but then had a relapse and made up for it the 2nd day. =)
Missy: she wins the prize for most random comment "wendy if someone wanted to steal all your beads, would you swallow them so they couldn't have them" holy cow you are funny Mis. She also was a great sport even when she felt sick the first day.
Leah: well I guess they were shocked with my high energy level until the 2nd day I threatened them not to wake my up for breakfast I would rather sleep =)
I can't wait for the 2010 trip =)

By far that was a fun trip!!! We miss our Idaho girls! I wish I had purchased more at the wood store. I guess I will just have to steal your ideas. Thanks Fam for all the fun!
Ahh, Idaho snow isn't that bad! Did you know that I had a class with Cari at BYU-I? She was pregnant with #1 at the time.
Glad you got away. You deserve a break w/o kiddos.
Hey lady! I just took that trip with a group of girls too! And I know what you mean about not being able to buy. It is torture! I ended up making everyone lug stuff on as carry on! I am such a great friend. I guess that's why we NEVER see each other! :(
Leah... you get to have so much fun with friends and family. This sounds like such a fun trip. and Millies outfit.. a-dorabale.
Woah, I am behind on reading your blog! Your two girls trips look like so much fun. I loved reading about your craft overdose! And could you please teach me how to sew cute skirts like that? I finally went walking again last night after a month or so off, but I had to take my little sis cause I lost my walking buddy too. :(
Ok, can I be an adopted family member for the trip next year? I'm serious! So fun!!!
Holy cow, remember when you and I went to Sea Port Village?!! Can you believe that was like 9 years ago???!!!
