September

Well September has been a fun month, a busy but fun month. It started out with a baby shower for my friend Alissa. She i shaving her 3rd child but first girl!! She actually had sweet Samantha Sept 10th. 4 of the 5 of us in the picture are preggo.
Alissa (girl), Heather due in Dec with a surprise baby, Nat due in Jan with her 4th kid but first boy =), Morgan is the one feeling left out, ok she doesn't feel left out...she assured us it will be awhile before the next one comes and then their is me who is due Oct 2nd with a boy. So much fun!!!!

September 9th was Shaun's 29th birthday. Shaun wanted Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner so we ordered from their and ate at home. Then I made Shaun an Oreo ice cream cake. Then Shaun got to enjoy the first football game of the season.

My parents house is being remodled while they are gone in CO. It is so weird to see the place gutted, I mean gutted. EVERYTHING was ripped out...as it needed to be. I'm so excited to see it all done and updated. It is one old house!!! They moved their when I was 5 so it is the house I know and love.

When I downloaded these pictures their were like 40 pictures taken by Ryker and Amelia, 20 of the shots were of his toys. Who knows where I was when all this was happening. Ooops.

I'm obsessed with quilting and blankets. So I made baby brother another quilt. This is just the top, I actually finished it today =) Should have taken a picture.

We went to my in laws for a family swim, ok Shaun took the kids swimming. Amelia proudly wore her sunglasses.

Cardinals football. Amelia even has on a little pink jeresy for the cardinals. Poor Shaun can't get Ryker to watch the games with him, but Amelia would. Ok the only reason she did is because she didn't want to go take a nap.

Well here I am 38 weeks pregnant. For the first time I don't want my baby to come early, he needs to come on his due date, Oct 2nd. The Dr. freaked me out and said I could have him anyday now, but baby brother is being a good boy and staying put. Like I said September is a busy month and I have a few more things on the calendar to do before he can come. Don't get me wrong, I'm completely uncomfortable, I pee every 10 mins, I can't sleep at night and shaving my legs is to much of a workout, but he will be here soon enough =) And yes we still don't have a name.

End of August

What a great month. School started for Ryker and he is doing GREAT. I couldn't be happier with where he is at. The staff their is great and so friendly. I went to the first PTSO meeting and they such great moms and dads who are helping out the school. Ryker also came home from school and I asked him "are you making friends and getting to know other kids?" His response was..."Mom I have the most BEAUTIFUL girl in my class, and I sit by here, her name is Nya and I love her"..........I was shocked that my weapon making, kung fu fighting, shark loving BOY was already all dreamy eyed over a girl. So I have been talking alot to him about how we are "just friends" and he should be friends with lots of kids. Oh boy, here we go.
As for other fun things happening at the Martineau home we finally have our first official pet. Shaun and I are NOT animal lovers. We will never own a dog or cat. But I do love turtles. They don't make noise, they don't have fur, you don't have to give them attention.....they are the best. I have had this turtle since he was born, 5 years ago but I kept him at my parents house. We finally brought him to our house and it is so fun. The kids love feeding him and making sure he has water. I named him Payce (don't ask why) 5 years ago but Ryker didn't like that name so I told him her can re-name him and he changes it everyday so who knows what it is today =)

Shaun works at ABC 15 and shoots and edits commercials for them. Every once in awhile they need a kid to be in the commercial and Shaun's boss just thinks Ryker is the cutest so the try to use him when ever they can. They were in need of a little boy so Ryker got the job (no their is no money involved, I wish) and I took him to the station so Shaun could get the footage he needed. Amelia was not invited, she is to crazy. When we went into Shaun's office, Ryker says "Dad it looks like the inside of a rocket ship", their are monitors and buttons everywhere so it actually does =)
Shaun behind the camera doing his thing and Ryker being a ham for the camera. He was cracking us up!!!
So be watching ABC15 for a quick 30 second commercial about donating 3 books you get free rides at the state fair or something.

When we get a little rain my kids love to run out and play. Of course we need to use those umbrellas that are only opened like 4 times a year.

Amelia's FAVORITE thing to do these days is play Candyland with her Dad. The minute he gets home from work, she runs up to him, hugs him and says "Can we play a game?" Usually dinner is about ready so we eat and while I clean up Shaun plays a game with the kids. The goal of the game is to get to the end where King Kandy lives. Well Amelia just want to get to Lolly Lollipop.....she loves her and if she gets her card from the pile we have to beg her to give it back when we are cleaning up the game. Ryker on the other hand is obsessed with winning. He didn't get that from me, I'm so not competitive.
I was so happy to get to learn another skill from my talented mom. She has been making these Triko quilts forever, she made one for me 28 years ago. They are silky and soft and hand-sewn. She has made one for Ryk and Millie so it was time to make one for baby brother. I love to sew by hand, it is therapeutic for me. I can't sit for very long because baby in my tummy will start kicking and wants me to stretch out so I would sew on it with many breaks and my mom just sewed away. This does take time and practice. My mom is so fast and has perfect stitching, while you can tell where I have been sewing.
My dad got a temp job in CO a few months back and my mom can back to AZ a few weeks ago to do some stuff on their house that is being redone. She is leaving tomorrow and will probably be there a year or so with my dad, brother and sister. Lets just say I cry everytime I think about it. I will be honest, I don't like it one bit. I don't like being split up and I know families do it all the time but it is not for me. I know things will work out for the best and I will manage somehow with out my mommy. I am a 28 year old woman afterall but still needs her mama!! I will post pictures of the finished blanket =)

Back to School..

Back to school time already.....and I actually have a kid old enough to be going to Kindergarten. My wild little guy is starting half day KG and starting a new chapter in his life. If you were to ask him if he was excited start KG he would say seriously "I'm not excited but I know I have to go learn and mom tell my teacher she doesn't have to teach me my letters because I already know them". Oh Ryker boy you crack me up with your seriousness sometimes.

Ryker at meet the teacher night.

Go Timberwolves

I made Ryker a crown and a special breakfast for his first day of school. He didn't think it was as cool as I did =) He gets embarrassed easy. It is not like I was going to make him wear it to school, I'm not that mean of a mom.

Waiting in line with is class.

Ryker's teacher is Mrs. Butler and she is so sweet. I'm so excited for him to be in her class. Shaun had to stop me from following them in the classroom. I tried convincing him to just take Amelia home and I would stay but he said I needed to let go and stop obsessing.

So we get home I had nothing planned, like I tried to all summer long so we played games with Amelia, playdough, beads and read books. Every 10 mins she asked, "wheres Ryker". I love spending some quality time with Millie, but she got bored as well.

So long story, but Ryker gets to ride the bus home. I almost cried when they told me that. So the first day of school we picked him back up but he was sad when we got there and we asked him what was wrong, "I wanted to ride the bus". So the second day of school he got to ride the bus for the first time. He loved it =) Millie and I sat in lawn chairs waiting anxiously for him to get home.

Well so far so good. This is all new for us, so getting into our new routine is great. I had to throw in this goofball picture. At bedtime they are so silly and crazy, while trying to get Millie dresses she ran off with the shirt on her head. For some reason we all found this to be the funniest thing ever and just chased her around the house laughing. I mean seriously, look at that face and that underbite smile of hers =)

Friday Amelia had her first playdate with her best little friend, Addie. Last year while I taught preschool, Addies mom watched Amelia. Well we had never had Addie over and let me tell you girls play SO MUCH QUIETER than boys. They were sooooooo cute to listen to as they cooked dinner, played princesses, dressup and played with the beads.
Addie brought over some fruit snack to share, she knows Amelia all to well.

The rest of July

When we got back from Utah, Shantay and Briss Briss were here visiting, so we got to spend a few days with them. Ryk and Mills were so glad to see Bristol. They love her so much!!

Then July 17th was or 7 year anniversary. We couldn't think of a place to go that satisfied both our cravings so we were boring and went to Cheesecake Factory since they have it all. 7 wonderful years and 2.5 kids to show for it =) Love you Shaun!!!!

Of course since we have been back we have been swimming truly almost EVERYDAY, if not every other day. We hop around to different family, friends and public pools. This has been a great summer for swimming. Ryker swims great and Amelia just likes to hang out on the steps and play, she is not a dare devil so I don't have to worry about her trying to swim by herself or jump in alone!! I just enjoy being large and incharge and trying to stay cool.

As most of you know, most of my family have been in Colorado. My brother and dad have temps jobs there for the time being. So me and my lone sister and her hubby are still here and it was my dads birthday July 26th. So we had Sunday dinner at my house and Sarah made a amazing strawberry masterpiece, in honor of my dads b-day. Yes I'm trying to rub it in because I'm still bitter my family has left us for awhile =(

Amelia is so funny you have to go to Sarah's Blog and read the funny story she posted.

Blakie, Ryker, Sarah, Leah, Millie and Shaun is taking the picture

Utah- Idaho

Have you ever planned something way in advance but when it comes down to it you wonder, what the heck was I thinking. So 3 days after we got home from our California vacation Shaun's mom, the kids and I drove up to Utah/ Idaho to visit Leann's sister and her daughters and their kids. Don't get me wrong, it was a FUN trip and I'm so glad we went. But being 7 months preggo at the time and no husband to help made things a little more work. I won't even document the little problems we had on the way up. Lets get right to the fun part. We left at 4:00am and had a long drive to Salt Lake City where we met up with Wendy, Cari and Rita and their families. The kids got to swim that night that evening and the next day we went to Lagoon. I was surprised, I had never been and thought it would be a cheesy place. It wasn't as magical as Disneyland but they had SO many ride for even toddlers to go on. I can't wait to go back.

Ryker (with a map in hand of course), Tanner, Brekka and Millie. This was Rykers favorite ride. it is like the dumbo ride but is with sea creatures and you can get squirted with water. I got shot right in the face by an expected dolphin. It was pretty funny to Ryker.

Good ol' bumper cars. Ryker was dying to go on this for some reason.

I tried to get a picture of all of us. Missy and Riley are way in the front.

Yes Amelia is trying to steal my jumbo corn dog. I guess their was plenty to share. It was GOOD!!!

Us on a little train ride. This was cool because it took you on a ride to see animals, and you got really close to tigers, a white tiger, Lions and so many other animals. Way better than the Zoo.

Who remembers and loves Dippin Dots....I do, I do! Well I couldn't resist but I think Amelia liked it just as much as I do. She had to hold it and I was lucky if she gave me a spoonful in between her several bites.

Some of their ride looked whimpy, but they went pretty face. On this ride was also a baby being held my their 2 year old sibling. I was freaking out watching them, but they are not as strict with the ride requirements as most theme parks would be.

Brea and Ryker, he called this "Small World" since it is a boat ride.

Me and my crazys in the hotel room that night.

Millie, Ryker, Tanner, Brea, Brekka, Lexi and Brody, then Cari adn Missy were holding their babies Riley and Jace.
So we stayed in Salt Lake for 2 days, then drove to a family reunion lunch in Idaho, then drove to Rexberg where Wendy and Cari live. Our first night their we went to dinner and Craig-os (I think that was the name of it) We were like a zoo coming in. Between us girls their were 9.5 kids. Amelia being the craziest, I hope Wendy and Cari invite us back up to visit.
We stayed in Rexberg for a few days. It is so pretty their. The last day we went to Wendys to check out her bead shop. AWESOME! She turned her garage into this little bead store and people come to make whatever they want with her thousands of beads.

Ummm I really feel like a terrible mom because Shaun and I don't like animals and will never have a cat or dog. But when they brought out Brekkas little kitty-cat, I have never seen Amelia smile and be this excited before. This is her first time holding a cat and she didn't want to let it go.
Missy, Leah, Wendy and Cari, in the bead shop!! Thank you girls for everything. We had so much fun and my kids just love yours. =)

On the drive home I turned Amelia into am ipod junkie. She kept want to listen to the same songs over and over again, Popcorn popping, Happy Family, I am a Child of God, It's a Small world, A Pirates Life for Me.....so she sat and sang along. Cutest thing ever. It really was a fun trip but next time daddy needs to come =)
