The past 20 years...

My friend Alissa tagged me and it is a cute tag for Valentines Day that is coming up. It is a brief history of how Shaun and I met, so here we go. Our eyes met from across the room, everything around him seemed to have faded away. He started to walk over to me and said "can I have your green crayon"!!

Just kidding, I don't remember what we first said to each other but Shaun and I first met in 1st grade, Ms Taylors class and Pioneer Elementary. We also were in the same 2nd and 3rd grade class, but then Gilbert was growing so they built a new school and he was sent off to a different school.

Just look at these faces, how cute!!! Shaun still has the same hair style (he he)

We were then reunited in 7th grade. Shauns family actually moved into my ward. Our friendship was rekindled and we were friends from that point on.  Sometime in highschool Shauns feeling towards me turned into more than just a friend, but I did not return those feeling. He didn't stop trying though. He took me on my first date, the minute I turned 16 and asked me to my first Homecoming dance. Please no laughing at our picture.

We went all through highschool just as best friends and then the day came for Shaun to leave on his misson. I went to the airport to see him off.  He was standing their in his new suit looking tall and handsome. When I thought to myself "Why did I not like this guy"?  He was out for a year or so and we were writing as friends of course, when I realized, he was the guy for me. We knew that when he got home we were going to "date" and see if it was the real deal. He got home in Dec of 2002, we were engaged April 2003 and married July 17, 2003 and the rest is history!!  Time sure flies and I can't believe we have been married for almost 5 years now with one little guy and a bun just about cooked in the oven!!   So their ya go, Shaun and I in a nutshell!!

I totally remember that green prom dress! I also remember going to the airport with you when shaun came home from his mission. I was not going to miss out on that. Ha, we even made signs to hold up when he walked out of the terminal, I still have pictures of it. Good times, and now you are pregnant with your 2nd child, time flies!

That was too cute! I didn't know you guys knew eachother that long! For some reason I always thought that you met in 6th ward a year or two before I moved in. Do you remember who asked me out on my first date? Clue: he was also one of those 6th ward boys...
It was Paul Lambson:)

So, I totally believed the story about the green crayon! That's so fun that you've known each other for so long! I can't believe we're both coming up on 5 years this summer! It seems like yesterday we were sitting in class talking about our wedding plans! {Well, maybe not YESTERDAY!} You look so beyond gorgeous in your wedding pic, by the way! And yes, we're planning on the park tomorrow!

that is such a great story, I don't know anyone who has known their husband for so long, you just don't hear stories like that very often, but it sure is cute.
